A Speech
Hear me out, my fellow choirmates! Stop panicking! It is of no use! I understand that we are in a serious dilemma, but we must remain calm and not fret in times of difficulty. We must cooperate through thick and thin, and be supportive of each other along the way. Our next milestone is only in a week’s time, and I want to achieve that “Gold” as much as we all want to. This is not the time to cry; this is not the time to worry; this is not the time to surrender. It is the time to shoot for the stars! It is the time to prove ourselves and show others our ability. We know that we can, and we must not lose the confidence which has always been instilled in every one of us.
Right now, we are a bottle of evening stars. Each of us, an evening star, is losing its twinkling sparkle. Each of us, a troubled soul – we are scared, but we have to overcome that anxiety. Always remember that we are never alone. Although we are trapped in this bottle, we remain as a choir. We have to stand together and work hand in hand to overcome all odds. We know what we want to achieve. Our goal stands clearly in front of us. However, we seem to be blocked by a transparent glass sheet. It is painful to know that our goal seems so near to us, yet so far away when we try to reach for it. It is frustrating to know that we cannot alter the facts of life. But this is just an excuse – a feeble excuse, just so that we need not face the reality of failure.
What we need now is the confidence to face our failures and learn from our mistakes. There is very little time left. All we can rely on is the determination and strong will in each of ourselves. We are all very exhausted, but we must persevere. Come on, choir! It’s the last lap for us! Let’s fight our way out of the cruel barriers of the glass bottle! Let’s look on the bright side! Let’s gear up all the way! It’s full steam from now onwards! Just keep your focus and we’ll do well! No one’s stopping us from reaching our goal anymore!
